Chapter 12

I take my time kissing Cooper, because I want to ramp him up to the point he’s ready to explode. I also want to enjoy him as long as possible. He’s in no rush either, and it’s me who finally pulls away to move down his neck. He sighs as I slide my hands under his shirt and move up to his chest. I thumb his nipples before I lift the soft cotton of his tee over his head, and I’m rewarded with his small gasp. I look into his eyes and find desire burning there. “Yeah?” I arch my back to thrust my chest out at him.

He reaches behind my back to unhook my bra. “And it’s going to look even better on the floor.”

A tiny shiver passes through me as the lace straps slip down my arms and cool air makes my nipples harden more. Cooper stands and takes my hand. He doesn’t speak as he leads me to the bed and pulls down the covers. His fingers are warm on my belly as he works on the button of my shorts. I gaze up at him, and the way he looks at me makes my heart swell with emotion. I know this is just desire, because that’s all it can be. But part of me pretends it’s more, just for tonight. My shorts fall to my ankles, and I step out of them as Cooper drags my underwear down. The lace scrapes my thighs, and his hot breath tickles my skin as he moves between my legs.

His tongue sends shock waves through me as he laps at my folds, and I grab onto his shoulder to steady myself as my breathing becomes shallow. He rises up and says, “Bed.”
